As an aspiring teacher, I've toyed with the idea of keeping a journal of some sort to keep track of the events that lead me up to my first classroom. So far, it's been pretty hectic and I would hate to lose any of the learning experiences that I'm encountering.
I suppose I could start off by describing my current situation.
Two years ago, I graduation from the University of Maine with a degree in English. I worked for almost two years in the wonderful world of retail until I decided that a retail job just isn't right for me. In retail, here may a bit of a monetary reward if you play your cards right, but that isn't enough for me to want to dedicate my life to selling, selling and more selling. Therefore I applied to the MAT program at UMaine, and that is what I'm currently pursuing. I've almost completed a summer in this program and so far, I'm loving it. Right now, I'm learning about technology in education (gee, I wonder where I got the idea to start a blog?) and it's very interesting. So far. Anyway, this is where I stand so far, I look forward to this fall semester and especially to my teaching practicums. Should be exciting!
